This "Cowibbean" adventure unfolds like a Pixar movie. The creaky Swashclucker steers our stalwart heroes, Chuck (real cow) and Hu'man Dakota ("cowmouflage" cow), toward Coral Crown treasure. But real treasure hunting requires more: strategy, perseverance, courage, and maybe a magic hornpipe whose BLOOP! BLIP! BLOOP! produces the largest, cow-sized, waterproof bubbles ever. When grisly catfish Kingfish (aka pirate Kingfish), whose reenforcements include six "heavily armed lobsters," discovers their mission, the treasure hunt quickly becomes a treasure race. Cue stormy seas, tight spots, and close calls, all on the waves of humorous narrative! Author Mike Litwin declares his intent though the hunter's final riddle challenge: "And guard thy heart, hearties, where wishes do dwell, for those who bring ruin shall earn it as well." For the most part, he side-steps the temptation to include an in-case-you-missed-it lesson on bullying and concludes this lighthearted frolic with a satisfying pearl of wisdom.
